SHIFF - Dark Shadows / Jonathan Frid Centenary Tribute (10/12/24)
The Sleepy Hollow International Film Festival honors the CENTENARY of actor JONATHAN FRID best known for his portrayal of a guilt-ridden vampire Barnabas Collins on the 1960's gothic daytime series DARK SHADOWS. Tarrytown was a site of exterior photography during the original run of the show and two movies based on the series were filmed in and around Lyndhurst Mansion. In October, 1990, Frid gave a notable performance in the Old Dutch Church, reading The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and other stories by candlelight. Special guests will include DARK SHADOWS actors Sharon Smyth Lenz (Sarah), Donna Wandrey (Roxannne), Marie Wallace (Eve, Jenny, Megan), and Mary O'Leary, producer of the award-winning documentary DARK SHADOWS AND BEYOND - THE JONATHAN FRID STORY. This program will feature a video recording of David Selby (Quentin) performing a series of letters written by Jonathan Frid and a Q&A with the audience followed by autographs.
